This prison fight illuminates exactly what I’m talking about. Overall, the massive action and fights are things I tend to enjoy, however, every so often a fight is fueled solely by male rage with no clear reason behind it, and it bothers me. Throughout this series, we’ve spoken a lot about the Testosterone filled sequences that are sprinkled throughout the franchise. It's obvious Diesel, the creative force behind the franchise, pays attention to what the fans want to know and "Fate" has plenty of fan service for those who keep coming back for more.(Image credit: Universal) The Prison Fight Was Too Much Testosterone For Me While some may take issue with the "Fast and Furious" franchise for making additions and amendments in later installments to answer key questions and plot holes in previous films, I'd argue it makes them stronger when viewed as a collective whole. The same rings true for Deckard, the villain of "Furious 7." Brian learned that over the course of the first film when meeting Dom and getting to know him. It's a lesson that goes back to the series' core. Mind you, Owen and Deckard were responsible for the deaths of some of Dom's "family" in previous films, but "Fate" reminds you to not judge someone until you actually know them. More backstory is provided to clarify why Owen Shaw (Luke Evans) and his brother Deckard (Jason Statham) were military men gone rogue. If you were wondering why the villains of the past two films, the Shaw brothers, turned out the way they did, you'll get an answer to that.
